The White Bus aims to provide a stimulating, challenging programme of film and media educational workshops in a high quality environment leading to high quality educational outcomes within the film and media industry.
People of all ages and academic ability will have the opportunity to learn life skills within a professional yet comfortable and engaging environment.

The White Bus is a registered Arts Award Centre and the majority of our courses are accredited, enabling our students to gain qualifications that set them up for a new career and further and higher education. Arts Award is a national qualification which supports young people to develop as artists and arts leaders. Young people aged between 11-25 can achieve Arts Awards at levels 1, 2 and 3 on the national qualifications framework. www.artsaward.org.uk

Collective Vision :: Focal Point Gallery

...are 4 groups of 13-19 year old people who are members of SAFE (Supporting Aspergers Families in Essex), St. Nicholas Special School, YMCA Cue Music and YMCA Chances who researched and recorded negative and positive visual and audio explorations of their local environment, both of their own and others perceptions. With our help and our media partner Focal Point Gallery and using new and old recording technology and the Cameravan, a mobile camera obscura, they created and produced still and moving images, sound and a web scrapbook to document and share ideas which was delivered back to their local communities with the aim to encourage dialogue and promote shared understanding.

Students achieved an Arts Award Bronze. Equivalent to GCSE grade.

Youth, Camera, Action :: Connexions

A film workshop for young people who want to learn about film making and film production techniques using high end professional HD cameras, lights and sound.

Students create their own scripts from their own ideas and develop them to produce a shooting script. Locations are decided and directed by students. Shadowing one of our editors, the students decide how to cut their film. Students also research and review a film and film hero of their choosing and deliver back to the camera by producing video diaries.

Students achieved an Arts Award Bronze. Equivalent to GCSE grade.
