Sadler's Wells Theatre :: Breakin' Convention

Breakin' Convention is established as the freshest and most innovative event on the global Hip Hop scene.

In addition to the much anticipated sell-out annual festival, Breakin' Convention now presents and produces Hip Hop dance theatre events throughout the year, as well as developing regional hubs and a national touring programme.

The White Bus was excited to work with the Sadler's Wells and Breakin' Convention team in 2008 to produce 3 days of high definition video for this innovative live event and promotional films. Here's one example of many, but look out for more of our diverse work with these guys in 2009...

Inclusion Trust :: Notschool.net

Notschool.net is an international 'Online Learning Community' offering an alternative to traditional education for young people who, for a variety of reasons, are unable to engage with school or other complementary provisions such as home tutoring or specialist units.

After almost 9 years and 5000 young people, Notschool.net is a full-time alternative provision; successfully demonstrating that young people for whom 'school does not fit' can renew their confidence in learning and gain a range of qualifications that recognise their progress.

Although work can be set, produced and assessed online, the idea is that it is not at all like school: the learners are called 'researchers' and the teachers are 'mentors'. There are also subject 'experts', 'buddies' (undergraduate or post graduate students who offer support) and 'governors', prominent people who did not get on well at school. Agencies like the Science Museum and WWF (World Wildlife Fund) have been involved in producing the learning material.

All of the researchers are provided with an iMac computer, printer and constant internet access at home, with access to other equipment such as a digital camera, scanner and graphics tablet, and technical support. The software is provided through Oracle's Think.com and provides a secure place where the young people can show their work and develop their own web pages using prose and poetry, graphics and music.

Inclusion Trust needed a promotional film to show government organisations, schools and funders the scope of their work and the positive impact it's having on teenagers unable to attend mainstream schools.
